Where in the Davenport area would be a nice place for a family to live?

I'm not real familiar with that area...I have lived in Cedar Rapids and Ames.
 
I live about 45 minutes from "the cities", but have nothing else to contribute to this thread other than my opinion that Peoria is better. 😛

I hope you like working at John Deere...great company!
