Anyone from Chicago?

Today was my first time experiencing "Chicago style" food. A friend of mine who grew up in Chicago but moved to Tennessee took me to Jimmy's in Memphis. I had the Italian Beef with hot Gardinaire peppers, dipped with a side of fries.

It was amazing. Wish I had thought to take a picture. Check out Jimmy's website.

I've eaten in a few restaurants in Chicago, but I mainly stay on campus. I don't really know what would qualify as Chicago food though.

Sorry about the typo. I meant Chicago style food.

Chicago food = cheap knock off of New York food.

Do you photoshop your naked pics to make your weiner bigger?

Excuse me?

Was that really appropriate?

As appropriate as your lame knock on Chicago food. There is no point to thread crap on this guy. He enjoyed his food and you are going to make this a battle of cities.

Its my opinion. I'm free to express it.

Yours on the other hand was a personal attack.

There was no confusion. I just never eat "chicago style food" or know what would qualify as it to begin with.

I don't know if it was appropriate, but it was pretty f'n funny.

Thats probably just a reflection of your overall intelligence.

As was your reaction to an, in my mind, justified attack after your inflammatory Chicago insult.
It's commonly held that both cities have their respective food cultures. Only coast snobs think differently.

If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen.

OP - next time ask for a combo. Same sandwich you had but with an Italian sausage tucked in.

What....you did a personal attack on anyone from Chicago and you are in the clear? I hope you aren't as ignorant as you seem.

Is everyone from Chicago as sensitive as you? I thought you were all tough guys. 😛

That is what I originally ordered however he was out of Italian Sausage. The shipment from Chicago was delayed for whatever reason. Went back today and asked if he had the sausage. He said he bought some locally. The order from Chicago would be in this week. I had a Butkus Dog today.

Does anyone know of some good places to take a date? I'm looking for something not so main stream and different. She has pretty much eaten bland food all the time and I want to expand her taste.

I had the fortunate opportunity to live in both cities. Both cities offer fantastic food each with their unique styles and tastes. But if you want more diversity, New York wins hands down.
