Anyone from Canada? Need help with a Postal/Zip code.

I am shipping an item I sold to a person in Canada.. however, I am not sure of the correct postal code. On his check he wrote:

Scarborough, Ontario M1H 3H3

The part in question is the 1.. I don't know if its a 1 (one) or an I (eye).. Should it be MIH or M1H?? I don't know how Canadian postal codes go and don't want to delay his package because of this...
