Anyone from Atlanta or surrounding area, specifically Alpharetta?

I'm going to be spending a lot of time in Alpharetta, GA over the next year or so, and as a result I'd like to establish some sort of a home-away-from-home.

Anyone live there or at least have familiarity with the area? I'd like to know the better areas so I know where to start looking. I haven't decided whether or not I'm just going to buy a home, lease a place, etc., but based on what I've seen it seems completely feasible to get a decent place.

Any suggestions?

i live in peachtree city, ga.. on the southside of ATL...
alpharetta is a good drive up GA400.. the traffic on that road is horrendous so if you're going to be working in alpharetta, i'd plan on living in alpharetta...
you got any specific questions?

I will be working in Alpharetta, and I have a home elsewhere so I'm not really that concerned about traffic, etc.

Yes, I'm just curious to know about the better areas of Alpharetta. I haven't the opportunity to fly in, find a place, fly back, and then go, so I'm trying to make the process as easy as possible.

well alpharetta is a pretty affluent community in itself.. basically anything that you need they have, you won't have to travel to atlanta much to get anything.. malls, stores, restaurants..
its a real safe place, real clean, real nice... mostly upper middle-class i would guess...
a lot of business parks and big businesses are based outta there...

That's about what I'd have to say as well. I live in midtown Atlanta, and don't get up that way much, but it seems like a nice area. Sorry, can't tell you much about where or what to look for. It sounds like you're looking for an apartment or something just so you won't be staying in some extended stay hotel?
