I like Southwest, but it's $120 cheaper (Manchester NH - Phoenix round trip) via NW Air..have never used them before.

I did, but the plane broke up mid-air and I didn't make it alive. :(

Northwest is based in here in the Twin Cities where I live so any time I fly, it's generally on a NW plane. Can't say I have any complaints. I haven't, however, flown with them since Delta bought them out...

is that $120 each way or $120 for the whole trip....and are their other fees to consider between the airlines?

I am pretty sure NWA bought Delta, or they merged.

I am the same, I have no issues with NWA, I love their over seas Airbuses.

And from inter us flights, any plane sucks imo, they are all crappy 747.

I believe they merged but are keeping the Delta name and the HQ remains in atlanta. Northwest as an airline is done. They are in the process of repainting the planes as we type. I watched a youtube of them painting one of NWA's 747-400s. Pretty cool but the paint scheme was pretty bland for Delta.

unless it's jet blue or virgin america, they all pretty much suck. and the first two also suck, just not as hard. to me its pricing, then timing, then airline in order of importance (and it really never gets decided by the brand name). flying out of IAD, which is no one's hub im on different carriers all the time...

SW is the WalMart of air travel....NWA is a good flight usually, depends on leg and plane you are on though.

$120 for the whole trip - $15 baggage check fee with NWA that I would not have with Southwest...so $105.

I've flown SW and US Airways this year - SW was far superior. My potential NWA flight has a different aircraft on each flight - Bombardier CR9, Airbus A320, Boeing 757, and a Douglas DC9-50.

NorthWest is fine ... don't worry about it. justmake sure you get a good seat. Yes, Delta and NW are merging. I was able to transfer all of my NW FF miles into my Delta account with no problems.

That is a great fare ...

I flew roundtrip from NYC to Michigan on Northwest and had no problems whatsoever. They are keeping the Delta name I think, and my flight was listed twice on the Schedule boards under both Delta and NWA. Would fly NWA again.

Be sure to try and move your seat towards the front of the plane at one of the kiosks when you check in (though that should be normal practice.)

$120 cheaper, not $120 total - but it's only $265.xx for fare & one checked bag, so I can't complain. :)

If any Phoenix or Vegas people want to grab a drink sometime between the 4th and 13th, I will be in the neighborhood.

Northwest is the only airline I have every been on. I 've never had a single problem. Delta is the one that bought Northwest BTW.

If it's not jetblue...it just something else. What do you want? It is just going to be a normal plane with no tv or satt. radio.

NWA's 747-400's are really nice for overseas. Service is pretty good too. Overall, I'd rank it above average. NWA is the only airline I have FF miles with (well, now Continental and Delta too, I suppose).

I've been flying NW for many years. So far no big problems. One time we had a fairly hot cabin on the way back from Hawaii, big deal.
