i'm trying figure out how to pronounce one of otto I's sons names: Liudolf
also...does anyone know much about Otto I : The Great? If i am not mistaken (or my searches arent) he was the first ruler of the holy roman empire and he had two sons: Otto II (any other names?) and Liudolf

thanks 😀

Are you sure that's the correct spelling? I've been looking up German dipthongs, and they only show how to pronounce ai/ei, eu, and au. It seems as though there are only three in the German language.

EDIT: Did a quick google, shows the name to be Ludolph.

Did another google, got the name: Liutdolf

And also: Liudolf

I'd say just go with the straight up Loodolf way of saying it.

I took 5 years of german in high school, and considering I just graduated, I am still pretty fresh.

I would pronounce it as Loodolph.

Wrong. Unless there's a special way of pronouncing it other than it's typed, it's lju-dolf, sounds kinda russian.
