Anyone flown out of Dulles recently?

Anyone know what the traffic and security line situation is like on a Friday afternoon? I gotta 6:30 flight to Chicago and am wondering how early I need to arrive. Not checking baggage, so I'm thinking I don't need to worry too much, but sometimes security can take forever.

I connected at Reagan (Washington National) two weeks ago and had to change gates (go through security) it took 5 minutes tops. I found it interesting though, that you cannot get out of your seat for any reason for the first 30 minutes of the flight. If you do the plane will land immediately and you will be escorted off the plane and questioned.

Traffic in DC area is usually terrible. On a Friday afternoon? Worse! Also--depending on which terminal you're departing from, you have to catch the shuttles out to the terminals and they can be slow!

Dulles is actually pretty easy to get to compare to Washington national airport.

I actually work closer to (NOT Reagan :|) National than Dulles, unfortunately. I figure to take the GW Parkway out to the Beltway to the Access Road. Can't use 66. 🙁

you shouldent expect much, i havent been to dulles but ive been in BWI, Logan and the St Louis airport recently and had no issues, at st louis i even got my gbags searched, and that was fine also
