Anyone file for unpaid wages?

Long story but everything is documented etc. Its pretty black and white, I shouldn't have any problems based on my electronic, and snail mail contracts etc. Just wondering if anyone had done this before?

Not in Illinois, but I worked for a rat company in Nevada that fucked up pay checks EVERY WEEK. We were always a minimum of 10 hours of OT short. Finally, a group of us went into town and filed a labor lien against the job. The county labor commissioner threatened to shut the project down unless every person was made whole before the end of the shift...and we were. Payroll was correct after that.


Every state has its own laws and procedures, but as long as you can document what's owed to you, they ought to be able to help you collect what's owed. Depending on circumstances, you may even be owed extra for having to wait.

thanks, good to hear. I am collecting all my documents, phone records etc now and honestly, its very black and white. The employer is just avoiding me at this point, so I think once they receive the notice, I might get a phone call.
