Anyone familiar with the way Amazon.com stocks items?

Nocturnal

There was an item that was available being sold by Amazon.com. It is no longer listed as being sold by Amazon. Just this morning it said it had about four left. Then just a few hours later, the item was no longer being sold. Does that mean the item is just OOS or does that mean Amazon doesn't have plans to re-stock the item?

Amazon uses a propriety stocking system created by Jeff Bezos and based loosely on the Walmart system, though not utilizing RFID as intimately as the Waltons do. Basically, they purchase stock to fufill the demand. If they find out that they are wrong (ie customers demand more or less), they adjust the re-orders accordingly. I know, groovy.
