anyone familiar with the OHIO DMV accident reoprt?

tough to find vehicles that have not been in some sort of fender bender. i was looking at a truck, but the guy lied to me, air bag had been deployed, truck had been rolled and had been damaged quite a bit. asshat... take it somewhere to have it looked at....

also, do not think that BIG Dealerships that are fancy do not sell previously damaged vehicles. There are many.

well my question was can I believe the carfax classification based on Ohio DMV traffic accident report? I assume the cop knows what he's doing when he put it in as minor. I am no where near the car that is the issue...

I would say the DMV is fairly accurate when reporting accidents, they indicated that it was hit by a deer in the front right corner. Take it to a local, reputable Mercedes dealership, tell them the information in the carfax, and ask them to check it out completely. I also noticed that in the first year of ownership, it was brought to the dealer quite a few times. Hopefully there aren't other problems with it that warranted the multiple dealer visits.

Have it checked out, of course, but my car now has been in three minor accidents and I really couldn't care less; I would definitely buy a car with an accident if it was not a major one. One of my car's was before I bought it, two since.

Good point on the frequent service... I am starting to get cold feet...wonder what carfax defines as lemon 🙂

I guess the saving grace is warranty is still valid.

I really don't need another one of the "I told you so" rants from my wife 🙂
