My friend and I got in a big argument today because for a few months he has been set on going to the Art Institute of Seattle for Audio Production when he graduates HS. When he first told me about the whole program I thought it sounded cool and that it would be a good thing for him, being an audiophile and all; Then he showed me the requirements for acceptance: 2.0 high school GPA, and they dont require you to take the ACT's, SAT's, etc...sounded a little shady, but then he told me the kicker: The 1 1/2 Year Program to earn an associates of arts degree costs $40k for tuition alone! I about went nuts! $40k for an associates degree?! Our community college offers the same for about $2k a year, and i brought this out to him and he told me that this college was the best there was, and that he was guaranteed a job when he gets out. Is this school that great, or is it just a way to get spoiled kid's parents to pay 40 g's for a community college education?

Tell him to go to a real school. If you can't get in to a school like Kansas City Art Institute, you will be a starving artist. I realized that the other day.
