are there any tips people can give as far as short cuts or anything

it seems with all the diff steps i some hoe get them jumbled up halfway through

ill post more info in a bit

Don't be lookin' for shortcuts if you don't understand what you're doing.

Work it out at the bits / binary level until you understand, beyond any doubt, what's going on.

Once you are solid with the basic principals, then you'll understand the shortcuts.

thank you, im stuck on a problem right now

i have 100 hosts and i need 5 logical networks

i come up with a subnet but it only allows 2 hosts per network 😕

it seems when ever i think i have it down my teacher throws a rench into it and i have to learn it all over

i think i got it, i was looking at the wrong numbers and getting stuff backwards

i was able to get 5 networks with 30 hosts a piece

now hopfully i get it all right

follow the above suggestion...do the binary stuff until you really grasp bitwise anding(sic?) and stuff, then move up and use shortcuts.
