Anyone familiar with rackmout server cases/cages?

We have a full size APC cage. HP server(s) in it are 26" depth so vertical rails are set at 26" spacing. However, I have 2 20" deep 4U servers that I need to mount in the same case. So do I get 26" rails or 20" rails for those 2x4U?
 
I don't think the length of the rails has to be exactly the same as the depth of the cage or rack. (as long as it's not over) The length of the fixed part of the rails however, has to.
(I can't explain this well w/o a picture, sorry)

Call APC and see what they have to say about it.
