Anyone familiar with Blaupunkt stereo codes?

I was cleaning my wife's VW on the weekend and I removed the stereo. I put it back in , only later to find out I need a code to get it working again. I went through all the manuals but couldn't find the codes. the dealer said they would have to send the stereo away for about $100. The stereo isn't worth that...
Does anyone know how to override these codes. The stereo is a Blaupunkt Tampa (SQR?) out of a 91 VW Golf. The car still runs great, but no stereo sucks...

Call Blaupunkt. If you can prove ownership of the vehicle and the stereo, they should be able to give you the code.
