anyone familiar with asus mb's?

got an asus p2b-ls (i44bx, lan+scsi onboard), and I can't make it work with a pIII 550MHZ, slot1, 256k. currently, I run with a pIII 450, 512k. smbdy told me it's because of the L2 size, as he has never seen before a pIII on slot 1 with 256k, but only with 512k. the proc is working, as I tested it on some msi board with 440bx. thanx, bye

that version of the P2b only supports the katami core pllls. I think your plll 550 is probably a later core.
