Looks like I might be getting a job offer thier and was woundering if any of you guys new how bad the cost of living out thier is. I know its in the LA area but apears to be on the outskirts (not familiar with LA so I might be wrong I'm going from a map).

What I'm mainly woundering is the looks to be paying about 28ish a year for an entry level video producer job with oportunity to be making 35-40k in 3-5 years. currently I'm making about 18 grand a year doing the same job but in a smaller town with maybe a small raise in a year but unless my boss quites no room for advancement. My worry is getting a apartment and ultametly buying a house will be quite expensive.

anyone got any idea what a decent 1 bedroom apartment goes for out thier? just for comparison i'm currently renting very nice 3 bedroom condo for 700 a mounth and I'm spilitng the cost with a roommate.

A one bedroom goes for roughly 800-1000. Moreno Valley is dark and scary. Just stay in Riverside near the university. Moreno Valley is roughly 60 something miles east of LA.

If you want to buy a house, there are a ton of new housing tracts in the foothills in the mid 300's to high 400's.

it's pretty far away from LA

closer to riverside/san bernadino

if you have a choice, i'd stay away from that area lol

it's like 47598437594357 degrees

hmmm....so basically all my extra money I get from my raise in income will go toards rent.....hmmm no thanks.....
god high 300's for a house!!!! my dad just bought a huge house in michigan for 210,000. I think I'll just a get a parttime job where i'm at now and buy the condo i'm living in for $75,000

I just moved from the Loma Linda area. (very close, just around the hill) I hated it there. Very very hot and the air quality is the worst in the country. I was under the impression that this was in the LA area too, but don't be fooled. It is a long way from LA and anything fun to do is at least 1 hour away. Don't move there. Find something better.

well thanks for the info everyone I already didn't like the idea of moving to that part of the country and it looks like reletively not much more money than I'm making now., considering my rents dirt cheap, little to no bills, and I can ethier buy where I'm living at now for 75k or get a nice 1 story ranch for around 100-110k. plus I get to live in arguably the best climate in the country. (low 80's in the summer with no humidity, light snow in the winter) and only have to drive 30 min to go sking. I think I might try to use this job offer as a little leverage on my boss to get me a dollar or two more an hour though.

909 is the area code.

Basically it encompasses San Bernadino/Riverside which are known for:
  1. Hicks
    White Trash
    Mullets
    Meth Labs
