Ok, first a little backstory...

I went to college on a full ride Marine Corps ROTC scholarship, however after a year and a half things changed and I decided it wasn't for me. I switched from Engineering to Building Construction and really enjoyed my new major. However I still feel pangs about not serving; I think as a citizen it's the least that I can do to pay back my country (yeah, it sounds cheap but that's how I feel).

I'm currently working on a civilian construction project that is being overseen by the Corps of Engineers (COE) and started thinking about a job to somehow settle in the middle; I'd be a civilian but I'd be working for my country.

Now to the present. I checked out the website and saw a large host of openings in the Gulf region and as much fun as working in the states, working in the current AO would "satisfy" those pangs to an even larger degree.

Can anyone help me out or throw me some information?

*CLIFFS*
-Use to be ROTC, now civilian
-Want to work for Corps of Engineers
-Want to work overseas
-Anyone have any information or prior experience?

No, but there's a few of them I'd like to kick in the nuts.

I've worked on several CoE projects over the years, but never as a CoE employee...always for a contractor.
