Anywhere from 7-35 bucks/hour.

Highest I ever made was like 6 or 7 bills in a 3 day weekend.

Personally: Worst was when I worked at a hotel (don't ever valet at a hotel with a parking garage). Clipped a pillar as I was exiting the stall, in a lexus ES. I also hit a sprinkler with this expedition that had a bike rack.

Before those 2, at my other place of work, I was flawless. Goddamn compact/low ceiling establishment (PSA, never EVER valet your car at the wilshire grand hotel)

Worst I've heard? Some guy in a mustang. Slightly slick roads. Took a turn too fast, FLIPPED THE CAR, and landed on a fence

Notable: Somebody rounded the corner in a lifted 350. As you can imagine, the turning radius is piss poor. He clipped a porsche.

after the stories my friend told me about valets, I will never let anyone valet my car!

both of my sisters had valet'd, my mom actually does too, for a side job. They valet 'gigs' . Class A Valet is who they work for.

Some pretty shotty stories of some of the 'co workers' they have their.

There should be a tipping thread somewhere. I basically chronicled my entire valet experience. Good times.

it probably caries, but they usually worked downtown in tiny environments. they would stack cars so close, they would knick the doors onto other cars.

specifically the 'russians' as my siblings called them, did this stuff, were not careful, basically lounged around and made my sisters actually do the work and expected half of the tips.

I also remember hearing them break stuff in the cars, accident or not, they did it too often imo.

my sisters worked their butts off, and had to split it with them, when they were there.

My friend worked it when he was in high school and some other stories, ill have to ask him for them again sometime.

things like , he heard people stealing stuff from others cars.

Like I said, this could just be this valet service.

Granted, the shady people typically got fired, so it did not happen to often, as Class A Valet is still in business around here.

Most valets don't steal. Except drugs and pens, and occasionally gum. Door dings and whatnot are pretty common though. Major damage not so much.

Stealing or damage isn't too mush of a concern as I'm honest (mostly) and very careful with my own ride and even more so with someone else's. If damage was to occur though, who is responsible for it?

Damn, an occasional 6-7 bens would be nice from time to time or even just once. Ad says 8-10/hr plus tips.

I figure it would also go well with my weight lifting to get me in shape. I always see those guys sprinting to get the cars. I could use a bit running to get the cob webs worked out.

Oh and how does the dress work, Would I wear my own nice clothes, do they supply them, or do I buy their "uniform". I guess it could vary from place to place, but whats the norm?

I wasn't earning that off the bat though. That was after 2 years of getting all the prime shifts.

When I started, and at the hotel, 30-40 bucks/shift was average. 70+ was a REALLY good day.

During my "prime", 100 was "ok". 150 was "good". 200+ was fucking great.

+ wages, of course. I busted my fucking ass off though, and hurt my knee in the process =*(. Running on sore knee + shin splits = not good

At the hotel it was supplied uniform. At the other place I worked, they supplied the shirt you supplied the pants/shorts (dickies FTMFW)

One of the jobs I was working with several other guys...guy got car jacked. They discussed shooting him but eventually let him out. He ended up coming back to work that night.

3 bucks validated parking. valet is fine if you don't care about your car. If it's brand new, i'd tip the guy 5 bucks to leave it up front. the underground garage is fucking horrendous, and the guys that work there just don't give a FUCK.

I was a valet in Newport beach for about a year. Worked a couple different locations, but towards the end I got a prime shift at an upscale night club. Basically we'd be working our asses off from the time it opened untill about 11pm, then once everyone was inside few of us would take the nicer cars out back and "test drive" them.

I never personally damaged any cars, but when someone else would the manager at the site would at all costs try not to let the customer see it, ie. pull it up too far so they have to walk behind their car to get in, instead of the front where damage would be. Pretty shady I admit.

On a Friday or Saturday night we could expect anywhere from 90-150 in tips each, 3-4 people working.

We had to purchase our uniforms from the company for $20, which was essentially a vest and bow tie; You had to supply the black pants and white shirt on your own dollar.

If you have a nice car and dont want the valets fucking with it, you can ask to park your own car or ride with them as they park it then tip him an extra $5. You'll know your car is safe and when you come back to get your car I guarantee you will get your car faster than anyone else if there is a line.
