I just got for $36 shipped off ebay a PC CHips M779MR. It's a SiS 630S board, supporting FCPGA Celeron, Pentium II and III CPU's. I'm just wondering if anybody's got any experience with this board or chipset and would care to share their experiences? Thanks!

well ...

http://www.pcchips.com.tw/M779MR.html

SiS 630S chipset w/ embedded graphics, AGP slot for an upgrade, C-Media 8738 4-channel sound w/ modem
function, three PCI slots (you lose one if you use the modem riser).

Whatever you do, give it fast SDRAM for as much bandwidth as you can get, as integrated VGA performance will rise
and fall with this.

630S btw doesn't run Tualatin core CPUs, you'd need 630ST for that.

Well most people who use that kind of stuff never even want to know the least bit about the guts of their computer, let alone come here and ask or answer questions about them.

The market for those is "it works and I don't care why and how" computing.
