Anyone ever use Kelly Services for a job?

For anyone that doesn't know, it's a job "placement" service. Just went there today and they hired me on the spot for a "project" that lasts two weeks, pay is pretty good. The nice lady told me after the first project is over they place you on a different project, it seems like a great way to get different experience in various jobs...

Basically it's a temp agency. Kelly is one of the big temp agencies, so I'm sure they're good.

That's what I was just offered. Working at an ETS center where I would be taking information from people wishing to register for the SAT.

Yeah...the jobs weren't bad when I got one, but they didn't come often enough.

I figured that's what would happen, the rep claimed they had many many projects so I would most likely get one within the next time frame.

I used it when I got out of high school..they generally take a third of your pay. I was put in a $12/hr job but was only paid $8.. I didn't stay long.

I got a job with Kelly Scientific and they offered my $12/hr. All payments came on time and I didn't have any problems.

I feel like they would have told me if they take a percentage of your pay. I was told my pay was a certain amount on a few occasions, and I expect to get that.

It's a matter of perspective. Kelley charges companies a certain amount to give them workers, and pays the workers a lesser amount. Obviously this is necessary for them to stay in business. If you consider it taking a portion of your pay, or overcharging the companies for your work, you get paid the same either way.

Hope they overcharge the company in my case :D

Whatever number they gave you is what you will get paid. They won't tell you what they charge the employer for your services.

Kelly is pretty much the same as any other temp agency. When I started as a software developer, it was through Kelly. A bit different than the normal temp situation though. I interviewed with the actual employer and basically all Kelly did was write my check. Never had any problems with them though.
