Provides an unlocked 3G modem for use anywhere in the world - $149 for the modem, $15 for the International SIM, but no monthly fee - no contract - all pay as you go. (A USB modem for laptops.)

I guess if you are going to a bunch of different countries and dont want to worry about a local sim for each one, and wont be using much data (or have work paying for it!) seems like a good option. I dont know if you can buy just the sim, but 1saleaday is selling the same modem today for $59.99. If you are only gonna be visiting one or two contries, you may be better off buying your own unlocked modem and finding a good local prepaid data option (I know 3 in the UK has unlimited data for like 5 pounds/week).

Those are good and useful comments. I'll be primarily in Germany. I think I'll just play pot luck and see if I can pick up something in the Munich airport.

Thanks for that reminder. I used Wi-Fi last year in Frankfurt airport as well as in a hotel or two. This next trip will be more of a challenge in that I will be on a river boat on the Rhine between Basel and Amsterdam. Wi-Fi then becomes a matter of luck.

Last year I was in Portugal on the DOuro River, and we tied up for the day at a restaurant, and I was able to slip into their Wi-Fi. :)

Anyhoo - I'll keep The Cloud in mind. Gracias!
