I have a Dead athlon XP 2400. I always hear about people turning their dead cpus into keychains...any guides out there? or more simple : how do you get the pins off in a clean way, and take care of the sharp edges of the cpu to make it more..."pocket friendly"?

The only thing nerdier than a cpu on a keychain is a graphics chip on a keychain.

Might wanna bend the pins in, unless you want an involuntary skin graph everytime you happen to land on your keys......

Try a cobalt bit maybe? They're made for high-strength metals and all hardware stores should carry them.

This hobby will be so much easier once the LGA775 cpus start getting old and busted...

Well I hate to throw away computer parts...so I either give them away for spare parts (pins, caps, batteries, whatever) or keep them for myself until I find good use (i.e. keychain)

Dead P200 on my keychain. Well, dead now.

Used snips to cut off all the pins. Then drilled a hole in one corner.
