Has anyone tried one of those weight loss pills called "Xenadrine"? It costs about $40 a bottle at GNC. I've heard from a lot of people I know that it's very effective and it doesn't make you feel "speedy" like all the other types of weight loss pills out there like Metabolife. My brother's friend lost about 20 pounds in a month with that stuff. I went out and got a bottle of it about a month ago and started taking it. It tells you to take 1 pill before breakfast and 1 pill in the late afternoon for the first week. It then tells you to increase the dosage to two pills before beakfast and two in the late afternoon. For some reason, when I take two pills during the afternoon, I feel all whacked out. (nauseated, headaches, dizzy). I'm fine in the morning though. If any of you have taken this, have you felt this way? I've stopped taken two pills now and went back to a 1 in the morning and one later during the day dose.

I didn't like it; it makes your heart race when you're not doing anything, in addition to the nausea.

Never tried Xenadrine, and never even heard of it... but i'm assuming these are thermogenic right? If they are, then they pretty much contain caffeine, ephidrine, and aspirin... when those 3 are in a proper ratio, it creates a synergenic effect where the sum is greater than the parts (the effect is greater than if you were to take them individually). Anyways, your 'whacked' out feeling is probably just your body not being able to handle the rush, most likely the caffeine part. I would take single pills for another week or so, and then try two again.

Also, what time are you taking these at? They may be a bit too close together. Late afternoon is like 4pm or so, right after you get off work.

I use ripped fuel by twinlab which is basically the same thing.

When taking pills like these you must be careful and 'test' how much you can take.. and if you cant handle them dont take them. I personally have no problems taking the regular dose, it helps me keep my weight wear it is and knock a few pounds off if i actually eat right :)

And whatever you do don't buy from GNC.. try http://www.dpsnutrition.com

These things work but I think the only place that says they are "totally safe" will be on the bottle at best :)

Anything that artificially does stuff like raise heart rate perhaps shouldn't be used so casually. I used to use the aspirin/ephedrine/caffeine stack to great effect but realistically once you stop it you'll probably gain the weight back (as with any diet) and I really don't believe its a safe thing to take on a constant basis.

I've taken it, but the heart thing... I'm not so sure about that. I don't like having my hearbeat race all the time. I accepted the fact that I'll always be a bit chunky. Who cares, I rather eat than not eat at all!

I'll sometimes take one first thing in the morning to get going and another an hour before going to the gym...really seems to help my workout.

Yeah, that's the best is for a workout. Take it 30mins before and you'll be pumped for a serious workout.

It contains ephedrine, which is a somewhat dangerous drug. It's supposedly safe but ephedrine in all these fat loss pills have killed a lot of people ever since that Metabolife crap started the whole craze. It's dangerous to the point that TX has a state law banning the selling of it to anyone under the age of 18. Skip the pills and hit the treadmill/stationary bike instead if you're trying to lose weight; or, if you want energy, hit up the carbs about 30 min to an hour before a workout.

you need to test your tolerance. ephedrine has killed many people who overdid the dosage
recommendations or were unaware of their medical predispositions. ephedrine in combination
with guarana, added to citrus aurentium, makes this practically dangerous.

if you want to lose weight via supplements try taraxatone. its a 'designer' water pill
with a strong potassium supplement. much safer.
