Anyone ever try driving home on New Years?

I've heard horror stories from everyone about how dangerous it is and what not with all the drunk people and how you're taking your life into your own hands, but I need to get home for work tomorrow and plan on going out tonight. Would anyone explicitly not recommend it due to it being ESPECIALLY bad?

I'm planning on taking a taxi home... It won't eliminate the risk but I gotta get home at some point.

I work in an inner city ER til 11pm local time. I'll be busting my butt to get home before the drunks and whatnot.

I usually stay home with my family on new years eve.

It'll be worse tomorrow.

Yesterday was terrible actually. 10 medical codes and 3 trauma codes in 12 hours. We were getting hammered yesterday non-stop. Alot of post X-mas drunks and ODers yesterday too.

I got a hotel room tonight. Either that or throw the party at home is the only way I do it.
