I think i'm still using 1003. I never flashed a new bios. Is there any benefit in the newer ones? I just figured that if I don't have any problems, why risk it?

the "1004 FXD" BIOS was the best version i used when i had my A7V133. that BIOS was great! and it had that CPU cooling feature built right in.

Yeah in some BIOS they can fix some things and add more features(but some of them won't work)

I was wondering if anyone gave the 1008 a run.

i'm running 1008 on my duron 800 box, she works fine... the one thing i love about any of the newer bios's, you can disable that damn POS promise ata100 controller bios.(and shave 15 seconds off the boot time)

I have not updated an A7V bios since 1005 came out. I do remember reverting back to the 1003 BIOS because the 1004 and 1005 gave significantly higher CPU temps.

Has this been fixed?

I don't seem to have a problem with the boot delay with my ata100 controller and ata100 drive. I dunno why. I used to have to wait 2 minutes, but with the newest drivers, no slowdown. I also run the cdrw and dvd offa offa the other ata100 slot. Still using 1003 and happy with it :)
