Girl at work has been bringing them in for us to try out. Just had a chocolate brownie one. Not only does it look disgusting, but they should never call something like that a brownie.

Only eat one of those things if you're going to be hiking or something. It feels like a brick in your stomach if you arent actively moving around after eating it.

Our snack room at work is full of the different varieties. Stay away from the blueberry one.

Some of them are quite delicious, but they have too much sugar for my liking.

I eat them all the time when I'm riding my bicycle on longer rides. They are great with water and the Gel Shots.

I tried one or two, not sure which ones... but was not tasty.

On a similar note, I've only found a single product from Kashi that I can determine to not be made from fresh tree bark, and interestingly, is actually pretty damn tasty.
I can pick it out in the store but cannot recall the name, it's some Cinnamon flavored crispy bar with icing drizzled on top. Tasty.

All these yuppie products mostly taste like ass. Anything promoting to be "natural" and "full of fiber", I tend to stay away from. Example. Most anything from Kashi. I'd get the same flavor if I chewed on some leaves, twigs, and bark.

They are okay. I've tried most of the varieties.

I don't eat protein bars anymore, though, because sugar alcohols give me stomach upset, and most protein bars use sugar substitutes.

The carabiner on the artwork is backwards. It'll still work though. I just thought I would mention it to show that I a little something about rock climbing, which makes me awesome. Everyone knows this.

only the shitty ones.

Most real protein bars are going to be based around the idea of energy/recovery. Sugar alcohols is useful for neither. Carbs are good for both, though for recovery the carb/protein ratio for favor the protein, while for energy the reverse is often true.

I mostly stick to various Powerbar options.

Though the Clif Shot Bloks are actually pretty damn decent. The high corn syrup content is immediately detectable, as is the soy. But the overall flavor is definitely tolerable. For the things I do, not convenient to eat anything while needing energy, eating a whole bar prior to working out is best.

Those Nature Valley crunchy bars (Peanut Butter, Oats n Honey) do the trick just as well in the morning before working out too.
