Anyone ever traded in a video card at newegg?

I was looking at video cards at newegg today and there was a banner to get a trade in value for my old 2080ti and I clicked on it. I figured it would be good for a laugh. Usually any offer I get for cells phones and stuff is laughable low. The thing offered me 200 bucks off the new card..

Has anyone ever tried this before?

What card would you be trading in to Newegg? I would say it depends on what the used price is generally compared to the discount they give you for it.

Nope...I don't trust Newegg any longer. They've screwed too many people.
I find this very sad. I remember a time when newegg was the go to for everything. Last time I upgraded I was able to get everything from best buy for either the lowest or close to lowest price and pick it up the same day. Things have definitely changed.

I won't go so far as to say I COMPLETELY don't trust Newegg but they're a long way from what they used to be. Having said that I'm pretty sure they would honor the promo if that's the concern.

As for the trade-in value, the cheapest 2080 ti I see on flea-bay right now that I would consider is +/- $300 + shipping/tax so you do the math .... $200 credit for near-zero effort isn't terrible.

Nowadays I only use their site to browse hardware and then I buy it from amazon or Best Buy. Pricks stole $30 from me on time a few years ago. They can die in a fire.

EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti BLACK EDITION GAMING, 11G-P4-2281-KR. Im looking at a 4070ti.

Newegg sold out and (the last I heard) was 100%Chinese owned. Add to that the screwings they've given to consumers, (ref. GamersNexus and the motherboard) readons enough for me to not give them a dime.

Is that even an upgrade?

4070Ti is a pretty big upgrade in terms of performance, though it only has 12GB of memory, which is only an additional 1GB. $200 isn't too bad, but if you have a good EVGA 2080Ti in good condition, I would honestly say it is a better deal to sell it locally for ~$300 or maybe more. Should be able to get an extra $100 at least out of the sale.

Also, what's the price of the new card? A lot of times, "specials" aren't that special when you compare the OTD prices.

This does however require actual effort! :p
