Anyone ever tint their own car windows?

Anyone ever tint their own car windows? How easy is it, or should i say how hard is it? Where do you buy tint film, what kind to get, what level of tinty-ness?

It is REALLY hard to get the bubbles out and looks like sh*t IMHO. Maybe if you can find someone with experience...i dunno...i've seen a couple people do it and it looks terrible.

That is the general consensus among folks I know that have tried it as well.

When we had a guy come and tint our house windows basicly what he did was spray some sort of soapy mixture then put the film on top of that and use a squeegy and work from middle out to get the soapy stuff out and that let him move around and play with bubles...I never seen how car tint goes in but im assuming somewhat like that. BTW, howmuch is a professional car tint job?

Pro's down here in arizona can range from $100 to $225 depending on size of windows and how many.

Unless you have experience doing it, I'd just take it to a tinting place.

If you never tried it, how are you going to get any experience ?

Take your time, apply lots of solution (1 part dish washing liquid, 4 parts water), apply tint, squeegee the bubbles from the center outward until it is flat and clear.

Make absolutely sure that the glass is perfectly clean before starting.
