Anyone ever taken Ambien?

Has anyone been prescribed this? It's a sleep "aid". Although I think it should be categorized under "Hallucinogen." My g/f had some and I took one, wow... it might as well be LSD. I was seeing all kinds of crazy stuff and became super paranoid. Not to mention I remember very little of the experience. No more of those!

I took it for a while (blew it a few times but mostly ate it). Puts you to sleep pretty quick. It was pretty hard to wake up in the morning. If you don't go to sleep and just stay up on it, you will get a strange sort of trip off of it. It's not quite like LSD. It's sort of dissociative, but also slightly euphoric.

My wife was perscribed some. She's never had a problem with them. I've take a couple when I've gone through sleepless times and never noticed anything.

Try and stay up for a bit and keep your eyes open, you might notice some "things" :)

Not likely, unless I take several. I have a high tolerance for medication. :)

BIG warning about Ambien and other benzodiazepines. They are very dangerous drugs and should not be taken for any extended period of time and only as a last resort after all other methods of treatment have failed. My brother was hooked on Clonazepam (which is related to Ambien) and is still having occasional nightly rages, paranoia, mania, massive anxiety, sleeplessness and other nasty symptoms because he was addicted to it. Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac was hooked on clonazepam and cocaine and said that it was MUCH tougher to kick the clonazepam than the cocaine.

See http://www.benzohelp.homestead.com for more info. And please, for your own sake, don't take them unless you are literally at the end of your rope, and advise your girlfriend not to take them. She will eventually end up addicted and your doctor turning tidy profits as a result of it.
