Anyone ever stay at the Palms or Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas?

Just wondering your thoughts on these two hotels/casino. Also, I was wondering how strict they are on letting friends who come to visit me use their pools. (IE wristbands or checks, etc.). Also, do they have people who watch the elevator to see who is going back to whose room? I don't wanna actually hook up with a hot chick, only to bring her up to my room and have some meathead say that since she isn't registered, she can't stay.

I stayed at the Palms. Overpriced and the rooms are tiny, but the night life there is THE BEST. I suggest staying at another hotel and going to the Palms at night. Sometimes they guard the elevators and don't allow you up without a keycard, IIRC.

If you have a lady with you and you flash your keycard, there's not going to be a problem. Each person doesn't have to have a keycard and they aren't looking up on the computer if you are registered. Not real sure how most the pools work.

I'd have to agree that the Palms and Hard Rock aren't the best places to stay, especially if you haven't been to Vegas before. I'd suggest staying on the strip, maybe in NYNY, MGM, Monte Carlo, Lexor, Excalibur, Ballys, Paris, Bellagio, or Alladin. Those are all pretty much together and gives you tons of places within a 5-15 minute walk.
