Doing a "startup business" project in Economics. I decided to do a webfront store such as NewEgg, but more hardware based and less accessory based (kind of the opposite of SVC).

Anyway, I somehow have to figure out the cost of everything. So, assuming I want to start off small, what would be a good estimate of my amount of sales to be expected my first six months of business?

I don't want to say I'm going to go out and purchase $15,000 in hardware and then expect to turn around and do something like $50,000 in sales because that doesn't seem to plausible for a new site.

Anyone who can help me out? I don't need exact numbers, but I have no idea how much I should invest in the products to begin with. I've contacted a couple manufacturers, but most of them have been little to no help :(

maybe you want to consider drop shipping if you can find a good source. that way you don't have as many inventory concerns. you have to add some kind of value though because you're still competing with newegg, zzf, etc. and you can't touch their prices.
