anyone ever setup minix?

was looking around the apt. here and found my old minix disks.....started wondering how many ppl have ever used it<it is a good way to learn on that old box you have laying around>.
if you are one of the few, lets hear some of the horror/love stories....

hm. i used minix for a CS class in my sophomore year of HS. i took the OS class WAY too early in my college career as it kept me up all night on many occasions!

at the time it was a pain to configure as ive never done it before, but i dont imagine it is any different from setting up a normal linux box. basics are that u need it on its own partition, blablabla...

the basics of a typical OS are there, and cleanly coded with sparse documentation... file system, memory management, device drivers, processes... all your typical OS theory...

i didnt get a chance to use linux with networking, but i believe it is available.

in short, i dont have any horror or love for minix, but if i have an extra computer, maybe i'd install and and revisit some of the endless nights that i had 😉
