Anyone ever seen "Around the Horn"?

I work for an ESPN affiliate, and they are always talking on air about how horrible it is. They refuse to say the words "Around the Horn".

I've never seen it, and they don't give a good description of it. What's wrong with it?

I like it personally. The format is a bit different than most sports shows, but it's pretty entertaining.

Basically it's this... Max Kellerman hosts it, and there is a sportswriter from the West, Midwest, South, and East(usually TJ Simers, Woody Paige, Jay Mariotti and Bob ryan, but sometimes it's different). They each take turns commenting on the different sports items of the day. They get "points" based on how interesting/witty/good their answers are, and if they start babbling or going off topic, Max has a "mute" button for each guy. After each round, the writer with the least amount of points gets kicked off, and eventually there is only one guy left. As I said, the format is a bit strange, but I don't watch it for that, I watch it for the sports news and the different takes from around the country.

It doesn't hold a candle to Pardon the Interruption though. Wilbon and Kornheiser are GODS. I love that show.

its ok, didn't really catch my attention too much. On the other hand, as mentioned, PTI is the best sports show ever! I love watching those guys.

I like PTI, though I'm not a big Tony K. fan.

I like my sports news fun, but on topic. Viewer/listener participation is nice, which is why I like Jon Chelesnik. He has a great show on ESPN Radio. It's too bad that I don't work that shift anymore. Now I get Todd Wright, who seems very knowledgeable about the issues, but his show just doesn't flow right to me.

Around the Horn is cool, IMHO, I like it due to the different opinions all being voiced at once (helps when you're arguing about stuff with your friends later ), but yeah, PTI is da sh*t.
