I'm in the market for a top-o-the-line 21" monitor. I really want to stay away from aperture grill monitors cuz of the damper wires. I've done a bit of research and came across the Eizo FlexScan F980. Other than being incredibly expensive, the specs and handful of reviews I've read make this sound like the greatest shadow-mask monitor ever made. If it's true, I'll save up a bit longer and get one.
My question is: has anyone ever seen one in person? How does it compare to something like the Sony G500 (which *is* aperture grill, but a lot of folks swear by)? Unfortunately, none of the stores where I live carry the monitor, so I don't have the benefit of "try before you buy".
Thanks!!!
