anyone ever replace their car horn ?

Yes. Mine was very easy - pop hood, unbolt old trumpets and disconnect wires. Bolt up new trumpets, reconnect wires. Done.

In my case, the circuit was fine (switch, relay, fuse, wiring, etc) but the actual trumpets themselves were broken, so it was an easy fix.

You can check the circuit by activating the horn and listening for a click under the hood - that'll tell you if the relay is working, and indicates that the wiring, fuse, and switch are ok.

Yes, it's easy. When I had my Tundra I replaced the pathetic meep meep cute little 'hi there' horn it had with one a little more befitting a truck.

yeah swapped my maxima horn for a real american one from a ford. gives it that more in your face sound as opposed to the lilte chirp of a bird.

A friend of mine bought a louder horn for his miata, now if you cut him off, he honks at 130 db, and then uses the 300hp under the hood to zip past you. Lucky bastard

Another guy i know replaced his horn with that "ooga" horn from old school trucks. Bought if off harbor freight for like 7 bucks. I may do the same

i had a disc horn and bought a dual-tone horn.. so i had to wire it a little different but it was really easy

You can get them at any auto parts store - Advance Auto and Autozone have them. I think I paid @25 for a pair (hi and low note) of 130dB trumpets at Advance when I did mine a couple years ago.

Your best bet would be to take out your old horn(s), take it in there, and match it up with something off the shelf. Unless you're replacing a working horn with something else, maybe a louder one or something, then they may be a bit different, but it still shouldn't be hard.
