Anyone ever read Naguib Mahfouz?

Recommendations? I have had two people tell me to read his books in the past week so I figured I'd go pick one up. Anybody read his stuff and have one in particular they'd recommend?

I vaguely remember that name from high-school litt. class, I think I may have read a short piece by him but that's about all I remember :S

I've read both Palace Walk and Midaq Alley. Both are fantastic. Palace walk is the slightly better book (it's also the one the won the Nobel Prize), but it is also much longer. Knock yourself out.

I have a copy of Palace Walk that I won, but never had a chance to read it yet.
I assume that it's a least semi-decent considering he's a Nobel Laureate.
