Anyone ever play the halfway to Hawaii game on United?

I know there is a formula out there to "help" me, but I cannot find it for the life of me. :D

United Airlines plays a game every flight to Hawaii where you have to guess the exact time of the flight, whoever is closest, wins a bottle of champagne. They played last summer, so I would guess they will this time as well.

Start a timer once you take off and then bust out your laptop with a GPS device and once you reach the mid point, multiply the time by two and voila, free champagne.

last year I did the multiply x 2 thing, but I forgot to take into account that windspeed can change wildly, and was off by more than 5 minutes.

UAL does not care, but AA does. The flight attendants usually dont give me any trouble.
