Anyone ever play the halfway to Hawaii game on United?

I know there is a formula out there to "help" me, but I cannot find it for the life of me.

United Airlines plays a game every flight to Hawaii where you have to guess the exact time of the flight, whoever is closest, wins a bottle of champagne. They played last summer, so I would guess they will this time as well.

Start a timer once you take off and then bust out your laptop with a GPS device and once you reach the mid point, multiply the time by two and voila, free champagne.

last year I did the multiply x 2 thing, but I forgot to take into account that windspeed can change wildly, and was off by more than 5 minutes.

just so you know if they catch you with an active GPS they'll make you turn it off.

UAL does not care, but AA does. The flight attendants usually dont give me any trouble.
