I got a Dell Power Edge SC420 which was a crazy hot deal back in the day for $300.

Anyways I wanna expand on my hard drives but am maxed out on space, I was thinking about getting some larger case and just transferring everything over to it but wonder if the Dell Mobo is standard enough to line up properly.

Anyone ever do this?

You may be forced to move that entire tray that the mobo sits on.

I must say that I really liked my SC420 after I got my video card into it.

I was in exactly the same situation.

I just bought a cheap mb and stripped the 420 as pulling the board from the 420 and trying to mounting it in the new case looked like a pita.

I do have 1.2 TB in RAID5 now and an additional 900GB in non RAID storage. :D

Damn dude.

I'm looking to get dual 400GB drives in addition to the 1TB total capacity I have now, just don't have the room.

Ugg, maybe I'll just get a cheap mobo but I want the RAID and those on their own can be expensive as hell.
