Anyone ever lost their receipt for best buy?

I just realized that I have misplaced a receipt for merchandise purchased at BB. I picked up the items about a week ago and were testing them out (two mp3 players). Anyway the amount was about $400 and I want to return them. I opened and tried both. I purchased these items on a credit card and the receipts would still be in BB computer and on my credit card statement. Is there anyway I can return them and get my money back?

The option of returning for store credit, buy another item, getting a receipt and then returning it for money has been suggested but I con't know if it iwill work.

Anyone ever had this problem? What did you do? Anyone work for BB that may have some advice?

Doesn't BB have the receipt in their system? Or is that Circuit City?

I don't know about Best Buy, but when I needed to make a TAP warranty claim at CompUSA, and couldn't find my receipt, they were able to print me a new one from comp records.

They can look it up by your credit card.... Beware though, you might get hit with a restocking fee anyway...

CC can look it up by phone number. Any purchase over $100 gets automatically stored by phone number....

As long as you paid by credit/debit card or a check then you are ok

there shouldnt be a 15% fee on MP3 players. I asked a clerk before i bought he said 30 days full refund. Why wouldnt this be correct?

just for future reference the store can print a duplicate for you.

BB will take back an item if you paid with CC. During holiday season they would take it back regardless, but they wont do it anymore. I tried it with a router that they said no too =/
