Yeah you could probably get a Samsung for $40 more than that. Hansol is basically on par with BenQ, probably even worse than that. Buy at your own risk.

I looked for reviews of a Hansol screen once and I couldn't find anything.

Looks like they are a subsidiary of Samsung
Hansol Electronics has independently manufactured award-winning monitors since 1996, building experience and technology upon the proven methods of their parent, Samsung. In a few short years, Hansol has become a worldwide presence.

Full 19 inch visible area
Amazing 500:1 contrast ratio
Accepts analog and DVI-D digital input
Headphone jack

The HANSOL H950 is part of a leading Samsung brand in the UK and a top brand in Europe. Hansol competes with top quality manufacturers where the certification requirements for performance, reliability, and environmental responsibility are the most stringent in the world.

Yeah they're OK...not in the same league as Samsung/NEC IMO though. I've heard that they have great pixel response times but their colours are all washed-out. They don't seem to make many displays with DVI either.

According to DAPUNISHER, Hansol is part of Samsung. I had heard before that they make displays for Samsung but I wasn't sure about it so I didn't post anything. I would still pay the extra for Samsung simply because it's not much more money and the warranty service would probably be superior.

The company I currently work for used a bunch of Hansol 15" and 17" CRT's before they moved to Dell. There's nothing wrong with them. In fact, most of the 15" models are now sitting in large boxes up in warehouse racks simply because they still work so there was no reason to pitch them. Anyway, I know you're looking for an LCD. Just giving you some idea on Hansol as a manf in general. Overall I'd say we were very pleased with them.

What are you talking about? Benq is formerly known as Acer Peripherals and the parent company of AU Optronics. Most of the 16ms 17in LCD's out there use AUO panel. AUO is also one of the two manufactuers that make 12ms panels.
