Anyone ever heard of a GF3 A3?

It appears to be a kind of stepping.
The information I can find about it isn't in English.
But from the german translation I think it was either a stepping that had problems or a stepping that fixed problems.
I think it has problems

all the latest G3's have a -5 on the cpu, but tests have shown that the earlier o/c just as good as the new ones. No dif.

A3 was an early revision GPU. Supposedly it couldn't clock as high as A5, but that depends on many other factors as well. If you can get a discount on a card with an A3 GPU, go for it. The "new" ones are A5.

SithSolo1:

That's got to be your call. I can say that, for example, Dell had a 20% off coupon and you could have gotten in on a new GF3 for ~300 shipped, and I'm sure it was the newer A5 revision GPU. The going price (depending on make) is $330-$360, with the ASUS in particular pricier yet. You may want to talk the person down a little since it is an A3 revision...
