Some co worker was telling me that you can get a discount on your electrical bill if you let them know that you heat your home via electric and not gas or oil. I have never heard this and they are keeping me on hold....Is he jerking me around?

Might be just the local utility company.

fuck electric heat...that stuff gets expensive...heating your house with electricity is almost as expensive as cooling your house with electricity...😀

I tried cooling my house with gas, but so far I have been unsuccessful.

Propane is pretty damn cold, I imagine if you just blast that around your house itll stay pretty cool.
 
I work for an electric company. There are a lot of programs like that out there, but it depends on who your provider is. Of course, they would like for you to have electric everything in your house, but I personally hate electric stoves, heaters, water heaters, etc. I highly doubt that any rebate program they would give you would be worth going after in you are already set up on natural gas.

It's probably true. You get similar discounts if you have internet and telephone through the same company; services often have package deals.

It doesn't really help though. When electricity is literally twice as expensive as gas/oil, getting a 10-20% discount still means you're paying a lot more.
