anyone ever have this problem with IE?

The pictures dont display on webpages with IE. It just randomly happens, and only seems to happen with GIF files. I checked all the settings and the computer is set up to display web images, but it just wont for whatever reason. I am running IE 6. Does anyone know what I can try?
