BTW, CVS requires DLs to be scanned for ANY purchase requiring ID check. (Alcohol, tobacco and drugs)

The reasoning behind this is to take the clerk out of it, and make the sale impossible unless the computer scans a valid ID.

More than likely it's protection against fines and lawsuits.

It's fine as long as they have a way to do it manually the data if the reader won't read it, I used to have a huge problem when I was living in PA because my drivers license was from Utah and didn't have a magnetic strip.

I think this is done voluntarily by the store and basically accomplishes nothing since you can go to any other store who doesn't do this and buy as much as you want.

I now have to go to the pharmacy to buy Claritin D or the good Sudafed that actually works. Funny thing is that I've been to several different pharmacies and keep track differently and on paper so what is to stop me from just going to each pharmacy and buying my monthly limit. Not like anybody is ever going to check those records or enter the info into a database. This law will prevent nothing and is a waste of time.

Probably within a couple years, every drivers license will have an RFID chip in it and all of our movements will be monitored.

More aggravating is that the local CVS keeps ephedra products behind the counter, and ONLY the pharmacist can dispense them. I had a terrible sinus infection this past week, and on Sunday I was unable to purchase any sinus product that contained pseudoephedrine (it just happens to work for me), because the pharmacy closed at 6. Not only do they log you and take your DL info, but now they completely restrict your access unless the pharmacist is there.

Same goes for the local grocery stores and Wal-Mart.

The fact that you were being an arse about providing cliffs (which might have enticed me to read the whole post) is why I am saying you are a tard.

NOBODY cares about rants of such random events regardless of awesome you think of yourself.

provide cliffs... tard.

Do you think you would get arrested if you went up to the counter with a cart full of cold medicine?
