Moved to a new location about three months ago after being down in South Jersey for about 5 years (Went to College there, made lots of friends there, etc.) .... moved back up North mainly to be closer to family and job.

But....

Anyone ever have the urge to move back to a place they lived before? Is it always the best option? Is the grass "always greener"? :)

I lived in Northern Jersey for most of my life. Then my parents moved to the shore while I was in college. I lived there for a little while, but eventually moved back to Northern Jersey. I don't regret it.

I grew up in Central, IL.

Moved to IA to go to college and stayed around for another 5 years after I graduated.

Did a short stint in AZ.

Moved back to IA.

Did a year tour in NE.

Now back in central IL near my family. Kids are on the horizon and we didn't want to do that without friends and family being near.

I moved back to Raleigh, NC last summer after 5 years of college in Virginia and 2 years of work in Rocky Mount, NC. I am much happier here.

qft.

I've lived *lots* of places, as an army brat. The grass is truly always greener - every place has it's own advantages and disadvantages.

Yes and no. Definitely emotionally a 'the grass is greener' thing but intellectually I know it's silly.

No. I moved only after putting a lot of thought to where I wanted to be. And now I'm here and am loving it.

yes I have, but it's more like I want to move back to a group of friends I had, not the place exactly.

I moved away from home when I graduated from college. I don't regret it, but I do miss Ohio fairly often. Thankfully, I also really like where I live right now and I am happy with my life. I hope to move back to Ohio someday, but not right now. :)

I went to college in Indiana, and I have no desire to move back there. :)

I like living where I live now - easy access to pretty much any store I'd want (except Sears, WTF?). I wouldn't mind less traffic and lower cost of living. I guess South Jersey is like that. But the jobs are better up here.
