I was told by a friend that Pepsi has a product named "Pepsi Max". Info about it on the 'Net is very limited...but I don't think it's availible in the US.

From what I hear, it makes JOLT cola look like tap water, and caffeine is very prominent.

Help, anyone? I'm not a Pepsi drinker, but this could mean that Pepsi is actually good for something other than owning Mountain Dew. :D

I suppose, but I'm the one who had the 5 Red Bulls, among other things, in the span of a day just to keep from passing out...I need more! :D

hmmm I wonder if it's reasonably good.

Excessive caffeine makes drinks bitter. Caffeine is very bitter just like most other alkaloids. Caffeine pills for caffeine boost, pop/soda/Coke whatever you call it in your locality for pleasure and coffee is suck!

Any idea on caffeine content?

Pepsi doesn't even seem to acknowledge it's existence.

Coffee is not always bad. I mean, make some drip coffee without a filter, and use Water Joe in place of water. WOOHOO, it's fun. ;) :D

It's available here, it does not come close to Jolt or something. I think it's basically Diet Pepsi with slightly more caffeine.

Edit: I know it's the sugar free version, not sure about the extra caffeine. I like cola, so I don't drink Pepsi.

they used to have ads for it on TV here.. ill try and remember it..

"1/3 the calories, 1/3 the (i forget), and all the flavour" (the ad was ripping up a paycheck. 1/3 tax, 1/3 something, etc.)

I never really see it though. it was basically a semi-diet pepsi. for fat people who want flava ;)

it flopped (here at least).

never tried it myself.

No idea, the label doesn't say (we have Pepsi Max in the office, so I can check the label). It's been a while since I last had any, so I just might give it a shot right now!

<==== Drinking Pepsi Max

Well, not as bad as I remembered. But not great either. I wouldn't buy it.

I used to like it a lot. I didn't know anything about the caffeine content though. I thought it just tasted good.

Pepsi Max uses a sweetener that is not approved by the US FDA, that's why it isn't sold in the US. I remember seeing it in New Zealand a few years ago when I was there. Didn't try it though.

So much for that idea.

So if you take it here, to the US, is it technically illegal? :Q

That's just what I've heard about it, I could be wrong. I've also heard Pepsi Max is the same thing as Pepsi One. I know the sweetener used in Pepsi One wasn't approved for use in the US in soft drinks until 1998. So maybe they relabled Max and released it here?

I belive the goal of Pepsi Max is a low calorie alternative to regular Pepsi. Not a caffeine enhanced beverage..

I didnt really like it much.. It had the 'odd' taste the diet pepsi has..

It was in Canada several years ago.. not sure if its still around in my area. Doesnt matter to me since I drink coke, and now vanilla coke exclusively ;)

According to a Pepsi Max bottle it contains:
water
carbondioxide
caffeine
color: E150d
sweeteners: E951. E950
and as a bonus miscelleneaous E338, E330 and E221.

It does taste very much like Pepsi One. Cant say for sure as never had them side by side but they could be the same stuff.

I'm an addict.
It's less cloyingly sweet than regular coke, but less chemical-tasting than Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi. No sugar.

Yeah it was up here in Canada several years back, and like mentioned by DaZ it was a calorie-reduced version, but not so much as the Diet version, so it had the MAX amount of flavour like the original. It was alrite, but it left that funky after-taste.

Most of all though I miss Crystal Clear Pepsi, now that was some funky stuff.. i mean it was clear.. but it tasted like Pepsi, too bad that's gone, but I'll always be a Pepsi drinker. :D
