Was just standing around talking this morning and I feel a pop inside my right eye. Then I started to see what looked like a backwards jagged letter c around the perimeter of my eye. Lasted about 10 minutes, but there was still pressure behind the eye. I was beginning to freak out, thinking the worst, like maybe a detached retina. Got in touch with my optometrist and he looked it over and felt I had an ocular migrane. Apparently, they are not uncommon, but scary as hell when you don't know what is happening. Shit was really running through my head, because my mom also has glaucoma and my dad had his retina detached by a hack eye surgeon and is blind in one eye.

Anyone ever have one?

Yeah I get them once in a while. They are relatively random. Usually they start out pretty small but they start to streak across my eye. Takes a while, but they go away eventually. They do suck.

Does anything trigger it? I work out at least 4-5 days a week pretty heavy and some online sources said that heavy excercise can be a cause.

YES!!!! I had the exact same couse of events as you, but turns out the optometrist was wrong and they were not occular migraines but partial seizures. Had a tonic clonic seizure about 8 months since the first OC. Now I am on seizure meds and don't get them. I also got random attracts of nausea during that time period.
Oh, and it turns out I have multiple sclerosis.

Interesting. I'm not sure what triggers them in me. I also lift heavy, but only 3x a week. I feel like I get them after staring at computer monitors for extended periods, or going from dark light to very bright light, or getting shot in the eye with a laser pointer (happened a couple times in middle/high school). I also feel I may be more prone to them if I don't sleep enough, or if I haven't been sleeping enough consecutive nights in a row.

I wonder if mine are actually ocular migraines? They are exactly as you describe. I don't feel sick or anything when they happen, nor do they hurt. They are just annoying.

Yep, one of the triggers may be a lack of sleep, which I am a prime candidate too, about 3-4 hours a night. I do a P90X and Insanity hybrid and I get the heart rate way up there, so that may cause mine. Stress may also be a trigger. Interesting stuff.

Do you have a pressure feeling in your eye after the attack? This happened at 6am this morning and now its 8pm and I still feel some pressure.

Yes.

And I hate the splitting headache it always leaves me with :(

Good thing is I only get them maybe once a year anymore, if that.

Check your blood pressure, and also with a neurologist in addition to the optometrist.
