I didn't find anything.

But you can isolate some of the causes and it may help slow it down.

I had poorly fitted crowns that resulted in gum problems..and had to have surgery. No fun to say the least and very expensive. Smoke inhalers from tobacco and dope are periodontal customers sooner or later. Tobacco chewers are especially subject to perio disease.

Hmm, well, so far it's only one tooth. I just noticed it tonight, no telling how long it's been that way. The tooth isn't loose or anything, which is good I guess. It doesn't show when I smile, it just weirded me out when I bared my gum and saw white that far down . . . I'm going to call the dentist and go in for a cleaning/checkup tomorrow.

I have receeding gum lines, however not 'severe' yet. As far as I know, the only way to repair that is through surgery. Not a fun prospect.
