Anyone ever have a critter in their wall?

I heard something scratching in the wall. I started tapping on it to get it to move a bit and I heard a almost buzzing sound and it moved up. So I think its a bat in there flying up and down when I pound on the wall.

Let it be and hope it dies and does not smell?


Cut a hole in the wall and get the gun ready for when it comes out?


Any other suggestions?

(We have a cat who caught and killed a bat at a previous house...so when it comes out he may get it for us)

I really think its a bat because of the sound of what I thought was wings beating real fast and its moving up and down.

I have the EXACT same problem, all the way down to our cats catching a previous one... weird..

I always think that some way they're gonna get out and start flyin above my bed...

We had to endure that for months and it was sheer torture. They broke into my stash of peanut M&M's in the adjacent bedroom. We slept in the basement and they were running around between the basement and main floor. All night long we'd hear pidder padder of their little feet, M&M's rolling around and other rodent sounds. Finally one day I heard one riffling through a plastic bag, I quikly opened the door flicked the light on and saw a little white mouse going through my M&M's. After screaming like a little girl and slamming the door shut I decided to take matters into my own hands. After 13 mouse traps with peanut butter as bait and those glue traps we got rid of them.

There's just something eerie about rodents inside the walls of your mouse and you have no control over it.

I've got bats in my wall. My office is in a dormer and the bats can get in under the soffit. One of these days I'm going to commit genocide on the damn things, but I've got to figure out how to keep them from scaring me striaght off the roof when I open up their home. Before my 2 year remodeling project was done up here they used to get in constantly, like 5-6 times a year at least, but I figured out that if you turn on a bright light they usually drop. If not, a tennis racket works well. Man I hate bats, I can hear them scratching now
