Anyone ever had this happen?

So I went to Circuit City tonight cause I was pretty bored. I had received a few gift cards for my birthday 4 or 5 months ago, and I found a sweet deal, an ATI TV Wonder Pro Remote Control Edition for 50 bucks. So I decided to go for it cause it seemed like a great deal. When I got up to the front checkout counter, the employee rang it up and as I got out my wallet, he said my total was a little over 100 bucks. So I told him it was 50 bucks, and he asked to see the tag, so I took him to the tag where it had said the item was 50 bucks. Apparently, he rang up the tag, and the ATI card and they were different merchandise, but also he was (I guess) obligated to sell it to me for 50 bucks, or else it would be false advertisement. So here I am happy with a TV tuner card that I got for 50 bucks off for the stores mistake :) Anyone else have this happen to them?

That's the best kind, when you aren't looking for it or expecting it.

same goes for deals too.

Yeah, I was a little suprised when he said he would sell it to me for 50 bucks.. If he wouldn't have said that, I would've just let it go!

yes it's happened to me.. circuit city 2 years ago for Black Friday had the Onkyo SR600 receiver for $299 in the catalog when it was supposed to be $399. Huge thread on this everywhere... people tried it at their local store so stores caught on after people kept trying. Well my local store hadn't yet and I was the first to take advantage... the manager had no choice but to give it to me for $299. Score.

I was at bet buy to buy a switch, and saw one of those floor pallets they put out in the isle. It had 24 port 10/100 swithes on it with 4 signs (one on each side) marked for $49.99. This was a damn good deal, so instead of the 8 port I picked up 2 of those babies.

Went though the register, they rang up as $149.99. Pointed out they were marked on the floor at 49.99. He said they couldn't sell it to me at that price, and that I would have to pay 149. Asked to see a manager, and got an LP (Loss Prevention) guy who basicly said (in not so many words) that I must have brought the signs in from home (printed on the best buy big yellow ticket things) and hung them up myself, because there is no way they did it.

Now, I figured I would not get a $149 switch for $49, but I had to ask, just in case this was a good best buy, not a crappy one (not the usual one I shop at) as the one by me missigns stuff sometimes, but it is usualy a sale sticker up too long, and they always honor it.

However, insulting my integrity is not something you do, and I almost punched him right in the face. The only thing that stopped me was the fact that I would be 100% in the wrong, and would get a nice lawsuit against myself for his stupid ass comments. I settled for getting up in his face and telling him if he told me anything along those lines again I would shove the god damn switch right up his ass. Then I gave him back the switch, told him to go f**k himself with it, and left.

Once or twice it's happened. I don't usually buy stuff a whole lot though since I never seem to have money.
